My passion for glass began over ten years ago and is now an unstoppable addiction. Working with the magic of glass makes me feel alive, energised and excited. My specialism is fusing clear float glass with coloured frits and powders and then adding lots of texture to make my work tactile as well as visual.
I share my enthusiasm with others by running a range of glass courses covering fused glass, stained glass and mosaic. These structured workshops instil an understanding of glass techniques as well as providing the opportunity to produce individual stunning work. These are run on a regular basis from my workshop in the basement of my house in Halifax.
I also work with local primary schools and children’s groups to introduce those as young as five to the miracle of glass fusing. The children work safely with glass and glass products to produce themed projects such as Jubilee Bunting and Olympic colour glass medals.
Whilst my love of working with glass has grown over many years, it was not until January 2012 after 20 years working in the IT Industry, that I finally made the long overdue decision to give up the day job as a project manager. I am now able to focus full-time on my love of glass.
And I haven’t looked back since!
